For more than a decade, the Gjenvick-Gjønvik Archives has provided a wealth of information to the public on historical topics featuring rare and unique primary source documents, historical publications and plenty of images.
Since its launch in January 2000, the Archives has grown to over 3,500 pages - quite an accomplishment in itself. The technology that makes this all possible is some software: Dreamweaver, Photoshop, FTP Professional, OmniPage Professional, Mirabyte Feed Writer, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Professional and SnagIt, just to name a few.
This massive site is hosted on a dedicated server out of Houston, Texas -- I'm reminded monthly to pay and marvel at how well the servers perform in serving up content and images that our patrons have come to enjoy... and expect.
Last, but not least, the domain name - the gjenvick.com was originally purchased in 1998 and has another nine years before it will need to be renewed again.
